Yokohama Geolandar MT vs. BFG MT?

I will be purchasing a new set of tires soon for the 4runner and my friend can get a good deal on yokohama's, however I have had great experience with BFG tires, especially the Muds. I am looking for advice on the Yokohama's, preferably if anyone has any experience with them. Thanks.

Brian

i've got them on my truck and since its light, they're not bad, just uni-directional. im pretty sure if you have the right gearing for the size, they'll clean really well. i like the fact that not many people have them as well, look good too. thats my .02 cents worth

I've heard that the Yoko MTs wear out pretty fast, but that is all second hand knowledge.

Got the All terains and love em. They handle great on road, water, dirt, & mud. they wear a bit faster, but they stop a lot faster then any other tire I have used, even in water. I would highly suggest the Geolanders. I have the highway ones on my wife Durango and they work very well, also!

i've heard that too, but with my truck being so light, i wasn't too worried about them wearing. after these are done, i don't know if i'll be getting another set, im thinking about trying out some TSL's or SSR's, maybe M/TR's.

the yoko mts are sweet... if i had the $ i would get those... and they are a directional tire with a cevron type tread pattern... the wierd thing is when you go to buy them, there is a difference in what side to mount the tire on... meaning not justt tire orientation onto the rim, but tire orientation to not only the rim but direction of forward travel....

that is the only negative i can find about these tires. if your gonna carry a spare, i'd carry just a general tire the same size of what you have on your truck. i have a wild country mud tire thats 33x12.50. cause if you have a extra left yoko mt, and you blow your right......im sure you could run it backwards, but i'd just get a normal tire.

thats my right front tire, you can see the tread pattern.

you really cant see it very well in this photo, but there is a direction arrow in which it tells you which way the tires are suppose to spin.

Have you guys had any problems with un even wear? or is that just a common problem with big lugged tires?

mine have worn pretty well. just keeping the right air pressure and rotating them is all i've done. my drivers side front wears a little bit because my tie-rod is mucked up and i need to replace it, so the camber is off a bit.
