Keep the stock tires on and just store those until you can afford to lift. Don't cut the body all up to fit tires that'll fit with a simple 3" lift.

The BEST thing to do is sell the rims and find new rims with the correct dimensions and then determine your needs from there. You need 15"x8" rims with a 3.75" backspacing. 3.5" backspacing on a 10" wide rim is too shallow, as we can see in the pic. Heck, I have 4" backspacing on my 10" wide rims and it's still too shallow.

Even with a lift, you're gonna still have to trim and/or hammer the crap out of those fenders.

I doubt it. Again, I have the same width rims with a deeper backspacing and they are fine. I could even go deeper.

EDIT: Oh wait, you have an 84 with the solid axle. Please disregard everything I've said...the information I just told you applies to IFS rigs. I have multiple tabs open to Yotatech on my web browser...you know how it is...you start reading multiple threads and there are trucks of different years and stuff and the information starts to get all jumbled up in your mind My bad.
