Have any of you purchased this tire from TW? If so how well does it do on a Toyota? I'm trying to save some money on rubber and have read nothing but good reviews of the retreads. Now I'm trying to narrow down the selection a bit.

Thanks.

been looking at a few tires on that site myself. for the price, they look like an excellnt deal considering their made from casting of the actual tire, not just some stuff that the tread write company made up. and from what I've heard, retreads are typically just as good and last just as long as a brand new tire.

I run them and im very impressed. I have the green diamonds and once they start showing, they work really well in the winter weather.

How about the OTR. I know someone has one as a spare but anyone actually running this tire?

It looks like it would do well in the mud and probably on the rocks to (so the ultra grip isn't realy any different)

But I wonder about road noise and durability with those strange center lugs.

I have a pair of the 235/75/15 mud terrains on my pickup and i like them a lot. I just went on a 850 mile trip right after i had them put on and i had no problems what so ever. And they are not even that loud at highway speeds

I have a set of 31x10.50 m/t's and yes they are loud and weigh 45 lbs apiece but they are awesome in the mud my first trip i went thru a trail that had ruts carved by a couple of cats and i went thru it no problem...well minus the loss of my exahust and front valence. but anyway ive put about 5k miles on them and they dont evan look worn. and for 425$ shipped to my door i will definetly be buying them again

I have a set of the MT-G's (the Goodyear MT-R knock off's) on my '90 pickup and I would recomend them to anyone. Installed them without balancing and they don't shake one bit. They are on the loud side but all in all a great all round tire.

It seems like a lot of people are running the mud tire and are pretty impressed. I found some news articles talking about those as well. But still nothing on the OTR. I did find something on a Ford forum though where they kicked ARSE in some snow. But want to know how they will do on the rocks, mud and highway.

Right after I posted this I bought 5 of the OTR's in the link above. They balanced out very well and ride like a dream on the highway, a little noise but not much. I took them to Gallup a few weekends ago to go drop in with Jeeps West and they did wonderful on the rocks and great in the little bit of mud that I saw. Aired down to 15lbs they provide insane traction even on a light weight vehicle like ours.

The next set of tires I buy are going to be Tread Wrights.

I have about 13,000 miles on mine and they still look good. You should get a lot more than 20,000 miles on them.

Matt I went from (at my best) 24.9mpg with the stock tires (28's I think) and 4.10 gears to (again at my best) 22mpg with the 31's and 4.56's. I must add that I also put a camper shell on the truck and haul about 200 lbs of gear in the back.

Why would you trust your life to cheap tires? I did once and nearly died. I'll never again buy any sort of retreads.

Do all HiTech retreads (formerly Green Diamond?) have the grains of sand in them to add grip on ice? The website seems to indicate otherwise.

No only the ones that are called Ultra I believe have the Green Diamond in them. Mine are still holding up well, if retreads work on big rigs no reason they shouldn't work on regular trucks. I believe they use the same process.

And how many thousands of semi's retreads have you seen littering every highway? Only reason they don't jack knife most of the time (note I said most of the time, because they sometimes do) is because they have 17 more to keep them from crashing. We only have 4, and need all of them.
