Tire Pressure
What is the best tire pressure to run for wear? I seem to remember the factory recommendation being something like 26F / 29R or something crazy
like that. My door sill plates are worn off...

well for best results...look on the tire sidewall....it will tell you the MAX pressure..if you want the better mileage..run your tires at max...i dont know if it affects wear on the tires...i run my super swampers at 45..front and rear..gets about 18 on the highway if im bein easy on her..('86 4x4 with a 22R and 5spd)..most of the time people run between 35-40psi though..

32 is usually the recommended tire pressure on most tires but it depends on the tires and the truck they are on. I run my Nittos at 36psi and have been getting good wear and ride out of them. Max pressure is for when the truck is loaded down and needs more pressure to sustain the weight but definetly bad for an unloaded truck or car.

Oversize tires are designed for larger trucks & have higher load capacities then your truck can handle.
My Nitto Terra Grapplers are available in 2 load capacities.
Load range D, load capacity 3000 lbs, 65 psi max.
Load range E, load capacity 3415 lbs, 80 psi max.
Those are per tire. A 4runner weighs about 4,000 lbs empty so these tires are way overkill.
To get maximum wear takes a little fiddling. You can start by drawing lines across the treads with a chalk or grease pencil. Drive straight on a flat surface for a few revolutions. If the lines are worn in the middle, lower the pressure. If the lines are worn on the side, raise the pressure.
This will give you a good starting point, but you will still have to monitor your tread wear & adjust pressure accordingly.
I run 28-30 psi in mine.
In my experience, a good alignment makes more difference for extending tread life. I get a lifetime alignment. Costs about 2-3 times a single alignment but you can go back as often as you want.

I have been running load range 'E' tires on my truck for 9 years now (235/85/16 and 265/75/16) I usually run 60-65lbs and I like the way they ride, the mpg, and the tread wear. On my other truck with 265/70/16 I put them at 40 psi and almost get the same effect as with the one ton tires.

stock recommendation on my 2009 tacoma was 30 front and rear.....i run about 34 all around on my new tires and rims....i wouldn't go above 35...if you do it makes the ride very harsh when you hit bumps in the road and such...maybe air up the rears if you have a heavy load on them....but normally 32-34 is good
