Stretched 33s?

Stretched 33s?
I am thinking of giving my truck a wide stance. Maybe 15 x 12 or 15 x 14s with 33 x 12.50s. Does anyone have any pics of their truck with a similar size wheel setup?

Why? I like the offset and I don't drive very much as is. My commute is roughly 3 miles each way, and during breaks and summer I am at the beach...Why would I get a vdubb? Not to mention their wheels are usually cambered out and hurts me just to look at them..

v dubbers love stretched tires. (horribly generic stereotype, I know) If its what you want, then go for it.
I dont like them because it leaves the rim/side wall of the tire exposed and if you air down you have a better chance of loosing a bead.

Its not a stereotype if its true lol. Stupid camber and white sunglasses bright neon clothes and a plaid interior. Gross. I am not a fan of that look. But a small truck with a wide stance appeals to me. Tons of guys around here have their wheels like this. I see them mostly on the diesels with FUEL rims, or the newer tacomas. Figured I would try mixing old with new. Was hoping someone up here had a similar setup

Remember, the further the tires stick out from the fenders, the more lift or more trimming you'll need to clear them because the tire will swing with a wider arc when you steer so the tire will be more prone to hitting the bottom of the fender and the front valance.
Plus, after a quick search, it seems that Virginias tire laws state that the tire can't stick out over 4" from the fender. In that pic you have of the tire above, it's sticking out well over halfway.
Just some things to think about...

I'm sure if you look through some Hawaii-truck forums you'll likely find lots of pics of this setup. "Hawaii-truck" is also a stereotyped look.
personally, I think it's impractical and kind of a waste just to achieve a "look" and there are better places to spend my money. if you've ever lost a bead on a tire, this idea would never even cross your mind - doesn't necessarily have to happen offroad with aired down tires on a wide wheel, i've seen it happen a few times on stock tire/wheel combos when people hit curbs (usually when making left turn and hit center divide/curb, sometimes when parking on street and hit curb, lol).
for me, I'd think more about this decision and decide whether or not it's worth it when you start thinking about things like: initial cost of buying the new wide wheels, likeliness of damaging the wheels with gouges/scuffs or bends/fractures because the tire isn't able to protect the wheel face, ridiculous amount of lift necessary to clear the width of tire setup from fender firewall and bumper, the extra leverage putting more stress/wear on items like wheel bearings and stock axles etc, the decreased turning radius from the extra width, having to solve tire/wheel coverage issues to be street legal, etc etc etc.
ultimately, it's your truck - so do what you want with it. If you do, don't forget we all like pics
