newbie here!

Just got into the offroading thing and looking for help! Been into turbo hondas for a long time so not new to forums!

Anyways I have a 90 toyota pickup with the 22re 4wd. Im not sure on the sub model but it sits higher then most but dont think its aftermarket. Im the second owner and original owner was an older man. I want to put some 33s on it. What size tire would you recommend and what offset i was looking at 15x8 wheels. What's the lug pattern btw?

You can check lug pattern by counting your lugs and then measuring the distance of your bore of each axle. You've got a 6x5.5 = 6 lugs and 5.5 inch bore.

For size, it looks like 33's is the size you want. To keep from modifying to fit them, I wouldn't go any wider than 10.5. If you're looking to drop some cash, or do some cutting/pounding on your truck, then 12.5+ will work. Only downside is 33x10.5 is a rare combination; not many companies produce them. BFGoodrich makes that size in an AT and an MT.

As for anything else, search!! There are multiple threads in this particular forum that would answer your questions.

you should search this but i would sudjust 31x10.5 15, unless you are only going to be driving this off road. the 31s are cheaper and get better gas millage.

Yep, bolt circle is 6 on 5.5". For 1990, original backspacing is 4.5". If you get different wheels, make sure the center bore is big enough to fit over the hubs (106mm).

33's cause you to lose quite a bit of power and braking ability. Unless you regear the axles, I wouldn't go with more than 31x10.50. I even prefer smaller than that with stock gears. I'm swapping my 31x10.50s for 30x9.50s.

You can fit any of these 15" sizes on the stock wheels. You don't need different wheels.
