I think you really need to take into concideration how much wheelin you do. Because your mileage greatly depends on that. If you wheel a lot, then of course your tread will detiorate a lot faster than if you just do city and highway driving mostly.

I hear everybody saying that the bfg a/t's lasting for at least 40k, but after a few wheelin trips, my bfg a/t's don't look like they'll last for 40k, I hope they do, but I'm not sure

So I think you should think about that too and all the responses you get

I have Wild Country TXRs but also may be in the market to get better tires for mud purposes. My TXRs hold up in the dirt just fine but I have yet to play in the mud due to the dry summer weve had. Anyone have an opinion on TXRs?

i'm probably going to be getting wild country rvts next(they're called wild country traction on lesschwab.com). they're the mud version of the regular rvt, quite a bit more agressive looking. i think they could make a good replacement for my mudders when i go bigger

Where's the option for some swampers? Seriously. My TSL radials are no louder than my MT/R's.

General Tire's Grabbers worked real good for me, in 32X11.5 size... those were awesome tires. I am not sure what the equivalent BFG or Goodyear tire would be, ... it has been a while.

Did you not spin your tires? Man, the 35 x 12.50's that I have on my F150 sling mud WAYYYYY far. I have never been stuck and those tires will outperform a BFG M/T. I love 'em, will never ever go over to the BFG side of the world for mud tires, plus the work well in the rain. Don't just ask for opinions, get out there and try 'em for yourself. Go ahead and get some BFG's and when they wear out really quickly, get the MT/R's and see what a REAL tire can do.

my question is that I am looking for the quitest, longest tread life mud tire on the market. I basically want the luxury of a allterain but with the mean look of a mud tire.

What do you guys think?

I have been thinking about the interco sts allterain

http://intercotire.com/truxus_sts_all_terrain-600.jpg

http://intercotire.com/html/trxus_mt___sts.htm

I was also thinking about bridgestone mt
or firestone mt. I actually like the looks of the firestone better.

I just need a mt that is not going to shake me after I put a few miles on them. I put regal mt's on it right after I bought it and with in 10k miles I sold them to a freind because I could not stand going 10 to 20 miles a hour and felling every lug in the tire.
Not to metion they were over half way worn out.

I've heard good things about the trxus MT and seen them do well off road.

Do yourself a favor, if you are concerned about mileage to the point that you want 50k out of them, don't get an MT.

Mud Tires are purhased for DD wheelers. I am not hoping to get 50k out of the MT/R's, but I would be disappointed if I got less than 40k.

I have MT/R's. They have been a bear to balance and keep balanced. They really are a great rock tire. I daily drive them and wish that I had AT's when I am kicking down the road at 75.

That pic is the interco all terrain not mud terrain. The all terrain look pretty mean I think, I just wonder how they ride and wear.

No, I heard and have seen the MT. I hear it is a good MT tire.
This is the first time I've seen the AT tire and me don't likes. maybe it performs though

The TRXUS A/T looks a tire for someone who wants a tire that "looks" aggresive. I thought about getting them, but would have felt like a poser. Kuhmo M/T are supposed to be pretty tough and wear like iron. and pretty cheap becasue they dont advertise. Im thinking about them, but If I bump up from 31's to 32's and go to a real aggresive tread pattern it will be too much for my 4runner. I have 3.0 and 4.56 gears in a manual tranny.(275,000 miles on her also)
