Going to small tires...thoughts?

Hello, I am running 265/75/R16 Cooper Discovery ATs, but a friend of mine is selling a used set of 245/75/R16 of Goodyears MTS in good condition. I've never considered going down in size. Would I notice a big difference in looks? I've read that I would get better mpg.

Thanks

it's not that much smaller of a tire, only around 1/2-3/4" so i doubt you'll notice the difference. you may have less rolling resistance from the smaller contact patch on the ground, but since the MTs are going to be heavier it's hard to say if you'll gain MPGs. on the positive note, you'll definitely gain traction and tire strength for offroading.

Agreed. And you'll gear down a bit with the smaller circumference. Also, you'll get slightly more fender gap. But all are small changes.
