Good Choice Mike.

I was completely oblivious that Sam's could get big tires. How long was the order time, or were you lucky enough to find a place that had some in stock?

Do they have the fancy balancer?

I actually ordered them on www.samsclub.com and they get delivered to the store of my choice. It said 5-10 days, but I think it will be only a few days. It was going to be MTR's but they jumped from $158 to $167 recently. Adrian, our conversations helped steer me to the Muds and the escalating price of the MTR was the clincher. About as fancy as they get for balanceing around here is a computer spin balancer. I've yet to locate a place that hasa road force balancer. I got tires at Sams for my Celica before. They balanced them just fine - we'll see how the Mud's work out. The only other costs are $9 per tire including valve stem, balance and road hazard warranty and then theres the taxes...

In preparation for this, I'm doing the BL today (after the kids hit the hay of course). I've been hitting the bolts under there for about 3 weeks with PB - the firsd one I tried came right off - already have the interior "prepped".

Weren't you at one time considering Firestone Destination MTs, or am I confusing you with someone else? Why the final decision on the BFGs?

I was considering the Firestones, but since they haven't been out long enough to be proven, I thought I'd let someone else be the guinea pig.

Even though I haven't gotten the tires yet, I'm really concerned about the backspacing on the MT Classic II's I picked up. The only backspacing for 6 x 5.5 is 3 5/16". I thought the stock BS on the 15x7 factory alloys was 3.75, but I have not seen anything definitive on this and have seen alot of mention about 4.75. There was a set of Centerline Hellcats with 4.5 which I'm considering returning the MT's for. I guess I need to pull a wheel and measure it for peace of mind. I was searching today to see what was available in a 4-4.25 BS and found virtually nothing (Eatons being the exception). I need pics of these wheels on a 2nd gen with 33's to see how much they stick out. I think Leo's old rig had them, but that's all I can think of.

Adrian, if you are reading this, can you post a pic showing how far the 4" BS wheels with 33's stick out?

The body lift is done - I've found the limitation of my floor jack in the process. Anyone doing a 1" BL on 2nd Gen, the lift point is around the middle of the front door.

You are going to be wide

As per Leo's site, he was only running 15x7's so it was not as wide.

Here is the best that I have on file, I will try to get out with my roomies cam and snap one this afternoon.

I was hoping the 15x7 was a typo since they don't offer one currently (15x8 is the smallest).

If I just look at the measurements, mine would stick out about 5/8" more than yours (3 3/8 vs 4 BS). I have no problem beating the fenderwell into submission to clear these - pinch weld, fender liner, etc. Do you have any interference with the fender "lip" at all, or was it all pinch weld? (which I know you took care of)

I have bushwackers that I need to keep on... They supposedly give me 2 1/2" of additional coverage. I spoke with the guy that inspects my rig - he said an inch or two outside of the fender won't get me noticed...

Thanks for the pic.

be cautious of SAMs when it comes to balancing/rotating or even mounting your tires. I must have ended up with 4 different sized weights on one tire and they scratched the f%$# outta my rims.

Yours might take more pride in their work.

I've since decided to boycott Walmart/SAMs.

I only took to adjusting the fender seam, the is pretty much smooth at this point. The inner fender liner was also removed and replaced with some more pliable floor runner from Home Depot. I have not touched the fender lip. I would be you are going to have some problems since you have the flares, but nothing unsurmountable.

Here are some pics to show how much I am sticking out. My tires are turned a little bit in the pick, I didn't have my keys with me I figured it was close enough.

Hope those look good. Montypics is going crazy on the third one.

Adrian - those pics are perfect. Considering I'm only another 1/2" out ffrom that, it should work out perfectly. I really appreciate the effort to get the pics. I'll be able to rest easy that it will work. I was ready to take the MT's back and get a different wheel (for the third time).

Are you at stock height up front or are you a bit higher due to the SAW T Bars?

With the bodylift, I am at 16" rim to fender including the bodylift.

Avoid cranking the torsion bars if at all possible and avoid the thicker torsion bars unless you are strapping another rig to the front end.

Excuse the night pics. The "Unimart" had the best lighting near my house.

I've got a bit of clearancing to do in the front wheelwells, but nothing insurmountable. I trimmed my front valance while it was still on the lift where the wheels were installed.

My Runner feels alot more stable now with almost a 2" wider stance (7/8" less backspacing and an inch wider wheel)

I'll get some better pics tomorrow. Just need to install the discos.

Here's how much the rear sticks out past the flare:

I love you Cebby!

Looks sharp, really like it. Just wait until the first trip through water with the windows down, you will wonder how your arm got all wet and why the passerby's are all ticked.

Very nice!

Have you done anything to prevent steering linkage wear? My 3.75" backspaced Hellcats have taken their toll on the idler arm. The spot where the arm bolts to the tie rod is worn out. Not quite sure how to fix that, but when I do I'll be investing in an idler arm brace. Who makes them?

Adrian - you inspired me and helped me with my decisions on this. Thanks for all the PM's. Cheers!!

OK, now I need pics of your front wheelwells - it never ends with me...

Take off the flares!! It will look that much bigger! One of the reasons I will never put flares on, is that I like the mud splatter all over my truck. Just as I got back from dinner tonight I was commenting on the mud "spray" all over my truck. It just looks cool. Mud is my idea of a bath.
