ever heard of trail cutter tires?

a local guy has a set of 33x9.5 trail cutters at about 85% on wheels for a good price, but i've never heard of them. he says he doesn't see a manufacturers name on them but that they are in very good shape. i was planning on using them as a winter road tire - nice and narrow. any input on quality would be appreciated, thanks.

Never heard of them. Ran a quick search and found some pics, but no reviews. They look decent I think.

looks like it'd be a good snow tire. not enough pizza cutter selection around here, you're pretty much stuck with D rated road tires or BFGs or swampers...

someone from another board pointed out the strikingly similar tread pattern on the BigO Bigfoot XTs. Hmmm...

Yep, seen that tread pattern on a lot of "lesser" brand tires years ago. Even a Sears tire. Not a bad tread pattern really. As for the quality of the tire itself, finding out who actually makes it can be tough. Most of them were made by some other company for example - Motomaster never made a tire, they were made by Kelly Springfield or Cooper or whoever...just like Procomp doesn't make tires, they are actually made by Cooper) The tires from the 70s and 80s with the above tread pattern were made by Dayton IIRC.

Just to add a little to this thread, if this size was still available new, I'd buy them. I now have 27,000 miles on mine secondhand.

Everyone needs to calm down! Cleaning up thread and unless you can add about the tires, don't post or there will be infractions handed out.
