BFG 33/1050s on 15x6 OEMs

I am looking to upgrade to the 33/1050 BFG's but was hesitant because the website mentions it requires 7"-9" rims, and the tire shop suggested 8" rims for these tires. I've got 235/75Rs on OEM 15x6 rims currently.

I love the look of my OEM rims, and would love to stay at that if possible. Anyone have advice against or supporting these 33/1050's on the OEM 15x6s? I wouldn't have even bothered to ask until I saw this posting by 4Crawler!

Thanks.

They will work great, people run 31x10.50 on stock rims all the time. As you can see, 4crawler has done so as well.

They work awesome, almost a perfect combination for on- and off-road IMHO. Only issues you may have is finding a shop to mount them for you, since the rims are narrower than the mfg. recommends and finding an air pressure that gives you even tread wear. Find another shop if one won't mount them, I got my first ones mounted at 4 Wheel Parts and the second set I did myself.

Have heard of reasonable success with 15x7 rims and 33x12.50s, never heard of that tire on a 15x6. Probably would have a tough time getting any decent tread wear on the road as the tread would not want to sit flat. I find this even with the 10.50s, you sort of have to alternate between wearing the center of the tread and the outer edges of the tread.

Dont' forget that a narrower rim will allow you to run lower tire pressures with less risk of de-beading as well.

I'm running 33x10.50x15 km2's on my stock steelies.
