95 4runner, can't remove the front wheels!?!

I traded my old tires and aftermarket wheels for some factory wheels, mounted them and have been driving on them for months. now I go to rotate my tires and I can't get the wheels off of the hubs. Does anyone know what the problem might be? My thought is that these wheels came from a pickup, or a 4runner with manual hubs and my automatic hubs are larger (maybe) ???

Any input would really help.

Could be that, or it could just be rust. Try whacking them from the inside with a piece of wood, with the wheels off the ground. Leave the lug nuts on a couple of turns so they don't fly off completely, and be careful, make sure the truck is firmly supported and and don't get under it.

You got em on right? They should come off with some persuasion. I just replaced my wheels and getting my stock ones off the front was a PITA but I got them off. Just gradually work them off.

I'm going to guess you have aluminum rims. If so, the problem is electrolytic corrosion, where aluminum, when put up against iron, starts to form a bond with the iron.

Try to get some WD40 or something on the back side of the rim where it meets the hub. Pound the inside of the tire with a rubber mallet or something similar.

screw all that man. Way too much effort, waiting, and chance for damage.

Go to harbour freight tools. They have BRIGHT orange rubber deadblow hammers for like $10 for a 4lb hammer. Put 1 lugnut on to keep the wheel from flying off. From the inside, hit the RIM, not the tire. 1 or 2 good smacks and it'll come right off. I have to do this ALL the time. ESPECIALLY on the tundra's with the Enkei wheels... they stick every damn time. Then you're basically "pressing" the wheel back on to the hub with the lugnuts when you tighten them... no wonder they're a bastard to get off.

Edit: you can hit the inside lip of the rim all you want with that deadblow and it won't hurt anything

good idea, cause I don't want to have this problem anymore. Something as simple as a flat tire on the side of the road, could turn into a nightmare, if I don't fix the cause.
