Free Tire Replacement Question

Hey Guys,

I'm sure you all know about the free tire replacement certificate at discount tires. For those that knows what I am talking about, I have a question for you.

How would discount tire know which exact tire the certificate cover? Let's say I bought 4 BFG AT KO w/o the warranty, and a week later I come back to buy one more for a spare and purchase the free replacement with that tire. Wouldn't I be able to use it on any of my tires if it were damaged?

There are DOT serial numbers that are set into the side of the tire. I'd have to guess that they record and track those DOT numbers.

Now they may or may not pay attention, but that IS how they'd tell the difference. We do it at Toyota for in-house road hazard.

Well the thing is, on the certificate that Discount Tire prints for you, there isn't a serial number recorded. I wonder if they have it in their system. Last time I had my tire replaced for free they didn't even say anything or seem to check, and they are always busy anyways, I wonder if they record it at all. Anyone?
