just all stock parts on my truck. Have a new motor from jasper motors and a rebuilt transmission. I’ve been getting some crazy quotes from different shops, pretty expensive. One quote was about $1500 per axle?!?!

front is a little more work.
hence why i suggest you pull them and take them in.
PM Zuk...with parts and shipping you are probably looking at $1500 if you pull them yourself...and it's a good time to go through your front end anyway

600+ install kit
Gear setup labor:
300+
R&R labor:
1500 minus 900 for parts, leaves 600 @ ~100$/hr flat rate shop time.. You think you can pull that all apart and put it back together in under six hours? Keep in mind that hourly rate is way on the low side, it's probably closer to 150. With an aged vehicle they wouldn't be out of line to charge a bit more than normal either to account for seized hardware.

Should'd could'd would'd
When I did the rebuild on the front end and rear end I should have changed out the hams to at least 488's Truck is still just a rolling frame so I guess I can still do it before I start putting it all back together. Man I hate doing it twice

I just had a set of diff assembled at a transmission shop last week. $600 for the shop to put together, $780 in new parts and install kits, and I used two old third member housings I already had laying around.
