Im just tryin to figure out how weel a 14.50 width tire would do on a 8in rim!!! It kinda seems like to much to me but ive had mixed responses, so would this work.

 

idk man i think thats pushing it. why not just get a 10 wide or 12 wide rim?

I wouldn't recommend it. You can buy a set of 15x10's on craigslist for about $50 used.

About the only 14.50 tire you're likely to find is a swamper, and they even recommend a 10" wheel for a 12.50 tire.

Besides, the wider wheel will make the tire bigger. Rather than using the tire to "balloon" out to accomodate the narrower rim, it will stand it up right and make it considerably taller.

 

Repeat after me, "narrow tire for traction, wide tire for looks"

I was very close to burying myself in my 33x10.50 TSL's on a couple occasions in the very short time I had them. Went with a 12.50 tire and am much better off. Would love a bit wider though.

 

^yea a skinny tire isnt always better. same goes for a wide tire also, just depends on where your wheeling.

and yes a 14.50 will go on an 8" wheel, but the center of the tire will go bald fast.

 

ya man try finding used 15x10's. shoot i would put a 12 wide or 14 wide on a 14.50 tire but i like fat tires

 

yea im prolly not gonna go that wide on the rim lol, but i guess ill just have to wait on some rims, sounds like the thing to do. and i aint tryin to start no argument on here because ive seen the skinny tire wide tire argument alot on here but just think for a second, the more rubber u got the more u have on the ground, yea a little more friction and a little harder to turn over but also more traction on and offroad. U never see a drag car with a 10.50 tire..... just sayin
