Items you carry just in case.

While going through some threads here with my lady we got to talking about what things we need to keep with us in her car while we travel. Of course we keep a firearm or three, something to start a fire, a blanket and her meds but other than that what do ya'll carry on a day to day basis? Oh and as a side note my lady has decided, after several threads, that we need to all follow Corey if the apocalypse ever happens and she's decided that I need to build my next 4runner similar to his FJ...... Now all I need is his bank account.

DEF a firearm !! I also usually keep some rope or strap and a small 10x10 tarp so I can make a shelter if I have to . A decent knife and a hatchet is always in my rig as well . I figure I can get dinner with my firearm and clean it with the knife and use to hatchet to make fire and ill survive a while . Oh and my tool box has a case of water in it too . then theres always the recovery stuff for the truck .

In Oregon, topographical map of the area I'm venturing into with markings of any missing persons in that area at any time. Several years ago, I located a few remnants of a daypack that may have been from someone missing nearly 10 years earlier three drainages over and nearly 5 miles north. AFAIK, it was not determined if it was. My find was just another data point in the mystery for the authorities to consider.

Also:
A book of detailed maps for Oregon state
Compass
Jumper cables
Recovery strap and rope
Ax
Flashlight and Batteries
Quart of oil and transmission oil
Tool box with knives and fire starter, rags
Digging shovel and snow shovel in winter
Coveralls and stocking cap
Gloves
Full water bottle
Insect repellant
Hand sanitizer
Tire chains in winter
Granola bars

Seems like a lot, but it's all been used at on time or another.

Due to profession, I always have firearms with me, but the one thing I also carry that a lot of people don't thing of is a BFH or big frickin' hammer. Also, my tools are in 2 sizes for sockets, 1/2" drive and 1/4" drive. The reason being, my 1/2" stuff goes small enough that my 1/4" stuff starts where the 1/2 ends.

Wire. Electrical grade wire can also be used for structural purposes as well.

Damn there are a lot of guns listed. Apparently, my trails are more hospitable then most.

I have a 3rd gen 4runner, and here is what I have stored away in all the cubbies.

Center Console:
Tire pressure gauge
GPS

Under rear seat:
Jumper Cables
Wood Blocks for jacking
Power inverter
Toilet Paper

Rear Storage Cubbie:
Full roll up tool kit: Metric Sockets and wrenches, pliers, vice grips, knife, duct tape, elec tape, elec wire, wire, multidriver, hose clamps
Recovery bag: Gloves, Maglight, Tow strap, small first aid kit.
Brake fluid, Oil
(yes, I really fit all that in there)

Of course, if I am heading off, I will load up on other stuff, but that is the daily stuff. Everything else is determined by the trip.
