Even cooler than normal... you'll be fine in that sucker! lol. Zip most of it up, allow some cross flow, turn on the heater, VOILA! lol. Rooting for ya to get out there ASAP!

Hahahaa.... Wait, that's crazy, ...I could of SWORN you had posted pics of some portable heater you got.... Maybe it was just a fan? Coleman if I remember? Meh, .....sorry, but maybe you could get one on the cheap, eh????? lol. Even better, ...a tiny holmes that runs off an inverter and keeps ya toasty if it gets into the 20's or so.... you know, just till you crash in the MUMMY BAG? lol.

yup, i got the mummy bag. it works well, too. as for the heater, i posted a pic of the fan we had going cross country, and i had posted a pic of the small ebay heater i got for the cap (it didn't work too great). almost forgot about that. i might look into a propane heater, but i'm sure i'll be fine

so while everyone at wally-world was purchasing water and bread, i picked up some cheap sheets and then went to hancock fabrics to get stuff for the new mattresses:

while my mom got the stitches out of the old ones, i sewed up this:

i'm glad we're having the storm... it gives me time to work on some of the other things

Hey, GREAT WORK! Love the creativity, man! Love the patterns too, seriously!

I love my propane heater.... When I camp in tent in the Sequoias in January.... it's VERY cold at times... and snow all around... So I like having the heater. It's INSANE, with a lil venting, etc., how it heats up my tent SO WARM! lol. I have a Bluette Version as well, for Emergency's that has a couple add on things like a heater, etc.

Anyway, that thing is gonna look sick in there, Ian. I can't wait, while I know you're probably going to make us! lol. (lil before and after action, right? hahaha)

i hope to drop the metal for the roof off this week and pick it up next weekend. that'd be sweet to get the roof done before the end of september

Ok, ....then just keep coming til you hit the 395hwy and meet me in Big Pine, before we hit the Sierras, Keough Hot Springs, head over the pass Kennedy Meadows to the Sequoias and Kings Canyon/Kern River on the way, then through and down to head west to the Coast Wilderness for some wheeling/camping/food festivals at Carpenteria, etc, eh? lol.

I love the desert, but for me, I WANT WATER, when camping... So I do Desert hot Springs style places, plus White Water in Palm Desert, etc.... But my fav part of the desert, aside from hiking, is DRIVING THROUGH IT! lol. Beautiful Sunsets and WIDE views, great for pix!

Can't wait to see the thing done, bud!

thanks guys!

zach- it's not just the covers. i cut the foam to fit the bed area, then sewed it in a sleeve, then my mom sewed up the outside covers. i'm using the vinyl backing and zipper on each cover, and cut out the new material.

still working on the mattresses today. had a slight issue with fitting, but i should be done by tonight
