it's kind of hard to explain, but i'll get a good explanation up here in a bit. here's how it's set up:

it adds resistance to abrupt trailer swivel, like when a truck passes or the wind kicks up

it's one of those things that's easy to show, difficult to explain

my sway bar will go on the driver's side as opposed to what the picture shows (on the passenger's side). hopefully i can find our bar before i go camping. though, not too expensive if we don't have it.

and i forgot to mention: the stabilizer legs are long enough when on level ground. i was afraid that flipping the axle would have raised the trailer too much. i'll throw in some blocks for when i'm not on level ground

spoke too soon. i discovered a flaw in my design: there's no support for the canvas channel. i'll have to take some stock up and have it welded into place

phooey. and i thought i was done.

nothing major, but a setback, nonetheless. i'll be sure to take pictures of the frame as-is, and pick it up in a few more days

Best wishes, hope it comes out PERFECT! Well, close as can be, anyhow, haha.

not done yet. it's 1 inch too short and needs some more bracing

i put the old aluminum on to keep the tarp from sagging, and to see the over-all height

and if anyone has seen these exact (or pretty darn close) lights, i want some. i like the look compared to the newer ones

Dang, that looks GREAT~! You'll get it just right, I'm not trippin, lol. Far as them marker lights... DANGIT, I just saw those EXACT ones at the BIGGGGGG ARSEEEEEEEE Pick-u-Part in Wlmington, CA, today!!! I might have to go back, tomorrow and rape some brackets, play metal... I'll grab em if they're still there. Guys were STRIPPING the trailers they had there(plus those come on lots of add on marker light sets that were on older work trucks with the doors and pipe racks, etc. on them, ya know what I mean? I would look into that stuff if I were you... (like roof marker lights for older F250 Dually's ??????)

Dang Brudda, .... spent a lil bit yesterday in the RV and Trailer section.... "OH THE CARNAGE, OH THE HUMANITY' hahaha. Really, some people are just TOTALLY screwing these yards up!!!! I'll just leave it at that! lol.

I didn't find ANY left on the trailers, etc., and the ones i did find were all cracked! Sorry man.... maybe next time I go I'll look ya up and see if there's something else? lol. I'm not kidding, btw, .....some of them were literally CUT UP, sections of them.... I'm talking perfectly in tact trailers, where they will go to get one lil piece and ruin 20 other pieces to get it, rather than USING TOOLS! Freakin freaks! lol.

shucks. thanks for looking! i'll still be looking around, but it's not at the top of my priority list just this moment. i will be swapping out the old tail lights, though. after hooking them up this weekend, they were just too dim.

Ian, ..... I was about to leave empty handed from my last day of 50% off at Pick-Your-Part, ..... and I decided to fish around in the trailer section again, thinking "maybe some KNOB stashed these things, ...no way they're ALL gone!... Well, I'm not sure it's what you want, but I'm uploading pics of what I found off an early 80's, late 70's Winnebago. Anyway, I got 2 red and 2 yellow, lens w/housings, both 'dual bulb markers' with pretty much perfect lenses, no oxidizing whatsoever, and if you need em, great, if not, I'll put em on my own trailer some day, right? hahahaha.

PS> They're both off the same rig but the Red Lenses are "Grote" and the others don't visibly have a name brand.... But I'd bet, if you look, you'll see they're identical... Maybe Grote didn't put their name on the Yellows? >>>

Pics...........>>>
