Ok everyone i have a 1990 pickup that i am looking at swaping a 4.3 in, currently running 22re.I have reserched many nights and found all the information i needa. just have one question is what kind of cam should i use. I want one that will give me a nice sound at idle but still have low end power. Ive also read something about getting the block machined but i have never messed with chevy motors othere then the other night when i tore this one down. So if anyone out there has any advice on a cam or experience please tune in i need help on this!!!

 

im running a stock cam in my runner with a 4.3 with a single flow and it sounds like it has a small cam but its is a roller motor.

 

by roller motor you mean it has roller rocker arm and hydraulic lifter. I was looking at doing the same thing with my motor? do you know anything about getting the block machined with a bigger cam? anyone else have suggestions?

out fo all the 4.3 conversions i have done, always used the stock cams. never had low end problems with this engine!!!!
