Next Step: Ford 302 Stroker

Hello everyone, and Merry Christmas.

I haven't been on much lately, and not sure how many of you remember me, but I thought I would stop in to give you guys the rundown on my next project!

For those of you who remember, I fully built a 22re, and supercharged it using an Eaton M45 hybrid from a Mercedes. This drivetrain is in my 92' Pickup, 2wd that is my drift truck. It's caged with seats and 4 point harness, ect. Well, I've moved on from that project, and am now throwing in a.............Ford 302 stroked to a 347. I sold the S/C 4cyl for $1800, and am now in the process of building the 347, with a final goal of 500WHP.

I bought a stock 86' 302 block, HO roller motor. It had a spun rod bearing, but that's ok because I wasn't using anything anyways. As of right now, I ordered the rotating assembly, which is a SCAT Series 9000 stroker crank, Ford Racing forged I-beam floating rods, and forged Probe flat top pistons, with valve reliefs so I can run a big nasty cam. The kit came with Hastings moly rings, Clevite 77 bearings, and ARP 7/16" rod studs. The rotating assembly is rated good for 600HP and 7200RPM. I am waiting for that to be delievered, I ordered it on Wednesday, and should be here at the end of the week. The machine shop has my block, which will be bored .030" over. The kit is fully balanced and ready to go, and hopefully will have the short block together sometime next weekend. In time, I am going to order a set of AFR aluminum heads, but for now I'm running a set of built GT40 iron heads, which is equipped with Manley stainless steel vavles and is ported to the max. I have yet to order spring, because I'm waiting for a cam of choice, which is undecided yet. I am using aftermarket Comp Cams 1.6 aluminum roller rockers as well. Compression with these heads is 9.9:1, good for street use and ability to run 91 pump gas. I ordered a Fidanza 21.3 lbs balanced flywheel, but have not chosen a clutch yet. I am running a World Class T5 mustang transmission, but with my expected power, may have troubles shifting. To mate with the drive train, I pulled a Ford 8.8 LSD from a 96 Ford Explorer, which is equipped with rear disk brakes. This rear end is not yet installed.I can post pictures if enough people are curious, but honestly, right now theres not much to show for except heads and a bare block!

So, who on here is into the V8 swaps?! Keep posted for more updates and progress on my ultimate build
