I did a V8 in my 82 same as you did I bought a 72 blazer and used all the parts. I have since gone through almost the whole truck again. Still building my engine. Did a complete re-wire and aluminum dash and gauges. Not I'm doing the axles.

it wouldnt have been nearly as bad if i had started with the old 3.0 in the truck and nothing was touched and i ran puller fans by moving the firewall back. but i just love the sound of a sbc with a cam.

I'm wanting to build a reliable engine with decent power. Have a 4bolt main 1 piece rear main 350 block, aluminum heads, intake, water pump. full roller motor. studs all through out. Not sure on compression yet maybe 10:1 .030 over or maybe stroked. Did headers and 21/2 dual exhaust with custom mufflers. Just running a stock 350 while I build this one.

it was pretty simple. i would just suggest using a thicker aluminum and taking some plastic off the back of the bezel so it doesnt sit as far back in.
