300 swap?

Has anyone tried a Ford 300ci I6 swap before? If so, curious about any notes/specs or advice.

I dont know of anyone who has done a 300ci I6 swap. Even though it might be a good motor in general there are easier swaps with better options. If you do decide to do it keep everyone informed. I would make sure to use a 5 speed with that motor though, the auto didn't get very good mileage.

Will do. Thanks, I do plan on using a manual. I'd like to use a T-18 if it will bolt up.

I had an F150 with that motor and the 5spd. Got around 13mpg. Everything I read online and according to all the forums the auto got around 15mpg. However, it is a bullet proof motor just like the 22r BUT atleast in my experience it was almost as slow as the 22r as well. Might do a little better in the toy due to the weight diff. Mine was a 95 fuel injected single cab short bed nothing special no lift etc.

I had a 94 with the 5 speed. Yea gas mileage wasn't great but I want the torque. Not looking for speed on the trail. I think the hp and torque would make it a mean little machine especially with the T18's granny gear

Yea, what is it like 150hp lil over 200tq. My F150 would crawl over anything I put in front of it and pull everything I put behind it that was for sure.

The only other factor to consider is the length of the motor it being an I6 its bound to be quite long.

from what i remember, the 4.9l is like 27 1/2" long, I'm pretty well through my 2jz swap and the Supra block was about 29" long, it's a tight fit, and had to move/hammer some stuff, but it went in. I think the 300 is a pretty tall motor though, so height may be a factor.

yep, or a couple other options, small body lift/ etc. anything is doable, you just have to have the time and energy to get it done.
