Most bang for my buck?

Most bang for my buck?
Ok I have a 90 runner and I am so depressed when I step on the throttle of this seemingly old and over worked 3.0. I am trying to decide what will be the most economic as well as the best power option for a swap. I know the 3.4 will add about 50 horses to what I am growing used to not to mention that the availability TRD supercharger will make it seem like my birthday everyday, but are there better options for simplicity, money or power options? I heard about the Turbo inline 6 out of the Supra, but I am not big on the turbo/gas as were close top $3 a gallon again. Is the 4.0 v8 an option in the 2nd gen runner, without welding new mounts or is that something I need to consider with any swap I get myself into? Thanks for the threads guys, its been good reading, and I love the pice. Hope to post some of my own soon.

Well for the simplicity of an engine swap the 3.4 is going to be much simpler. Mechanically the 3.4 bolts right up to the transmission. and uses the stock engine mounts. You just switch the oil pan and a few other things. The 4.0 V8 (1uz) will need custom everything. You can order in some adapter pieces, but most things will have to be welded up by you. plus all the wiring involved on both engines.
