7mgte into my mk3 Hilux
Hello all, new to this group but like the look of it! Now to the point, I have dropped my 7mgte from a supra automatic into my Hilux using the 7mge bell housing to mount my Hilux box straight to the new engine, it has gone into where I want it ok but the wiring has ruined my day! With it being an engine from an auto do I have to change the ecu? It's on a manual box but will the engine fall out with me? Also how do I make it work? No idea where to start! I've heard that it's 5 wires from the supra engine loom to the Hilux loom to get it sweet but no idea which 5 wires. Any help will be greatfully revived!! Many thanks to all, jack taylor

Lookup my thread for mounting...
Power wires , power wires and ground wires.
you have to battery positive wires from the ecu we need to connect to the ignition hotwire
there is another hot wire for the injectors idle speed controller and air flow meter that is in them b 1 plug and let's get connected to a fused power source
You gotta do something with the wire that goes for the c o r. circuit opening relay it is to shut off the fuel pump if the motor dies. if your truck did not have a fuel pump that was electrical and it will not have a c o r and you have to wire it up so that it shuts off with ignition switch

I had to make up my own mounts from 5mm flat bar, before doing it thoebe confedent in your welding skills. we mounted the gear box to the 7m (if you are running a mk3 box all you will need is the mk3 non turbo supra bell housing and the w58 box and 7m marry up perfectly) and then mounted the gear box in it correct possision using its original hilux mounts, then we used the engine lift to lower it into the correct place and fabricated mpunts from there. we had to take the engine an box out again so whilst it was out i welded them in with more then enouhh weld. I went on the premis an inch of good weld will hold a ton so use asmuch possible weld ! And in regards to the welding we have it sorted now. alot of trail and error but now she starts on the key. any questions on the swap i will be happy to answer. it was a pain, but i would do the swap again!

You can use 5mge upper motor mounts with 22rthe lower mounts and with the w58 m series bell housing the motor drops right in and bolts together fine. There is no need to make motor mounts unless you cant find the 5m ones......

the energy suspension tranny mount for a gm 2wd car works as a perfect motor mount for this swap or even just for your 22r. autozone has them on the shelf for like $30 or so bucks ea.
as for the using auto ecu. yes all you do is bypass the nss and you will be fine. do not hook up any of the ecu output wires to the tranny ecu. if you wire it up you will be fine. the auto ecu will directly plug into a manual vehicle but not the other way around.
but doing a 3.4 swap the auto tranny ecu will throw cels due to the computer is not getting signal from the shift solenoids ect...
