Dave is the purveyor of Nissan Patrol scoops...
(he doesn't know the can of worms this is opening for him!)

Thanks Cebby, sorry for the highjack. Dave please just PM me about it.

Back to your swap, have you tried fitting the alternator in there yet? I removed the plastic cover over my steering shaft/rag joint to get more clearance.

I plan to do that since it would likely melt due tot he proximity of the headers. My next fit up will be with the engine the whole way back together and all of the accessories mounted.

As long as the can of worms isn't too big, I don't mind at all....would be cool to see some toys getting around over there with the scoops fitted!! They are a great looking scoop (even though they are made by NIssan)

I'm also keen to get some 4.88 Rear V6 diff ratios from over there soon......so might be able to work out some kinda deal.....

Sad ain't it...

I'm waiting for my buddy to have some time to cut my header flanges, oil pan flange and oil pickup tube flange. Then I plan to get back to it. They just got a 3rd waterjet machine, so they are busy working out the bugs with that currently. I've been busy with other stuff too, so that isn't helping matters - I don't need anything to get the tcases and trans all assembled, but other stuff is taking priority...

Ohhhh, water jet cutting stuff huh. Cool! Have him do you some O2 sensor flanges while he's at it.

Not exactly tech, but some progress. Pulled the motor apart again...load going for powdercoating... I had all the big stuff hot-tanked.

The cam covers and intake will be dark dark blue and the fuel rails and related stuff and nuts/bolts will be gloss black. The fins on top of the upper intake will be either silver PC or raw and polished/brushed. I plan to paint the plastic plug cover ridges to match (silver).

Cebby, I sent you a message awhile back about cutting my header flanges. I got the file that I can send you if you can have them cut. Check out my thread on here.

I'm looking to clean up the engine bay a bit prior to the next time the motor gets dropped in.

Here's some mystery wiring:

I think this was the igniter...

This can come out - my wiring for the ADD solenoids (My ADD went away when I regeared and added ARB's)

Need to shorten up the vacuum hose for the brake booster (I finally got the bolt out of my intake!) and also planning to replace the rear heat tubes (they are the rusty tubes below the booster)

This will free up some room! Out with the ABS pump. The FROR full floater setup I plan to use isn't compatible with it anyway...

Is that drawing final? I'll see what it will run.

I think that 3-pin plug over the drivers side interfender is the alterator plug.

I thought that plug was on the engine harness, not the body harness. Pretty sure mine was round. (need to go check my old alt)

Nope, it's on my 3.0 body harness. In fact, I'm still using that plug after my swap, it fit the 3.4 alternator too. That small white square 1 pin plug on up that same harness (it is a black wire with a red stripe on mine) I didn't use for anything, its just sitting there unplugged now.

This is the pic I'm refering to, the plug is round (sort of oval anyway). And the white squareish plug on up with one wire I didn't use at all. See if that one in your palm doesn't plug into your old alternator.
