Dale - it should be noted that you inspired me to pull the ABS pump.

Send me an email or something, I have the CAD file that was made for me. I have the engine done except for the headers, wiring and an oil pick-up tube issue.

OK, we're working through the Lexus control of the Toy trans currently. Anyone familiar with the Lexus control of the TCC solenoid? It appears to be PMW (pulse width modulated) control that is different than the Toy version. This Lexus TCC solenoid has 2 wires and the Toy one as 1 wire. Also, the Lexus one is about 2" bigger than the Toyota one (comparing a341e Lex trans vs a340h Toy trans).

More discussion here: http://www.uzswap.com/forum/index.ph...=55.msg462#new

If anyone can offer some insight, it would be much appreciated...

Sneak peak:

It's a nice dark blue - nearly identical to the body color of my 4Runner - I think this pic is close to the real color.

More to come!

It should be noted that the PC work was done by Jeremy Loudin at Loudins Powder Coating. He's great to work with.

Yeah mate, cost of the buggy was blowing out! and I wasn't going to be able to afford to compete anyway as we are about to buy our first house. So sold all the gear and bought a 78 FJ40Landcrusier off a mate! It's to be used as a 2nd daily driver for the wife and I, and the truck I can use offroad without the fear of trashing/breaking stuff.

And someday down the track, I hope to put a 1UZ in it, but for the moment the 3F in it has more then enough power, the torque it has is amazing! ˟˟˟˟˟s all over the lexus in that department!

This now answers my question why V8 Cruisers etc don't have a problem if they were also using the A343F because they don't I should have twigged this anyway as the Cruiser Autos are huge

The A4 series is a LOT bigger than the A3 series hence the V8 Cruiser probably has a much bigger converter.

Also checked out an auto Diesel Surf with a A343F and no problems the trans ECU is remote so if you need one I can post it no problems.

Trans ECU

Are the clutch plates the items that surround the planetary gears around the input shaft? Was this difficult? If that's the only diffference, I'll switch them before the swap.

Yep but I would have to recheck all my Trans workshop manuals to ascertain the exact number of plates etc in each trans model but the A340 has the least, so I had all the extra A341E clutches and plates fitted to my A340H at the same time. I got a trans shop to do this as it had to be completely stripped etc.

JD
land cruiser did use the A343F it was in the Prado
here is one note how short the whole setup is this one is a 343LE
