I have a 1" BL. I need to lower the engine some. I'm glad I didn't completely weld in the frame mounts. The header doesn't clear the steering shaft and I can't move the steering box enough. I'm trying to keep the A/C but that isn't looking good either.

did you have to switch over to the sc 400 oil pan and pickup to clear the solid axle? and how about the oil filter housing , still using the ls or did you switch to the sc one?

I'm going to swap out the LS oil pan for the SC one. I have been contemplating building my own oil pan. As for now I'm going to run a remote filter so I should be able to use the LS housing.

The SC400's oil filter adapter will fit between the framerails.

It fits but I dont think you can get a filter on it. Not really worried since I'm using a relocation kit.

If you mount the engine low enough in the engine bay I think the angle of the LS400 adapter will actually make it fit under the frame. I didn't try it though. toy4whatever's engine is mounted really high though. I think his sits about 3" higher than mine.

Well that would make it a lot easier to make my auto a manual. I would what the specs are on that transmission? RMA that last picture you posted is gorgeous. I want it to just throw in my 4runner.

No. I'm a little farther along than you are, but I been working on it on and off for a year now. I've just had so much going on that I don't have the time to dedicate to working on it as much as I would like. I have a few small things to finish up and I have a friend that's gonna build my wiring harness. I want it to be as reliable as the 22re was because its a dedicated trail rig that will get used and abuse. I don't want any stupid failures due to poor workmanship from my swap. I've read too many of these swaps that are several years old and they never seem to be completed. I don't want that to be me. As soon as it actually starts and runs I'll make a build thread.

I wanted as low a center of gravity as I could get. The way I made my motor mounts I can set it up higher simply by puting a spacer between the urethane mount and the factory aluminum piece.

Here is the left side of toy4whatever's engine.

Here's mine.
