1UZFE in '90 X-tra cab

I have a thread over in the SAS section but thought this portion should be over here. I bought a 1993 LS400 for $550. Got it running before I removed the engine. I will be using a R150 with duals. I will be buying a adapter from New Zealand and modifing a stock 3VZE flywheel. Here are pics of the truck, car and motor. More to come.

Still gathering parts but got enough to start fitting the engine. I picked up a bell housing adapter from a guy over on Lextreme and I got a V6 to gear drive T-case from a local guy.

I will be using the stock 1UZ ecu. Hopefully Santa is bringing me a welder and this project will go a lot faster. I am going to use a modified Jegs aluminum radiator and a set of modified Tundra(ebay) headers. I cut off the V6 mounts from the frame and will me building my own mounts to clear the headers.

So what are you going to do to trick the computer? (About the whole transmission thing) Cause I would love to make mine a stick, using the stock (R151???) transmission. Is that the Inchworm prerunner adapter?

Havent got that far yet. I havent read anything about having to trick the computer. The adapter is from Phil Bradshaw in New Zealand.

Nice. I'm trying to decide on whether I want a 1UZ or a 5VZ with a s/c.

Update

I have been in touch with John at LC Engineering. I put a $200 deposit on my 38lb flywheel. I sent them my flexplate and spacer to get the measurments. The ring gear on the 3VZE and 5VZE are the same as the one on the 1UZ flexplate. Since LC already makes a 38lb flywheel for the 5VZE they are just modifing one to to fit my application.

Update

Got a phone call from UPS this morning saying I will have a package from LC Engineering being delivered today. Sure enough 3 hours later I had 38 lbs of pure sexy delivered to my doorstep. This thing looks awesome.

Took the engine out and made a stand for it. I'm working on my triple shifters and clutch set up.

They had to drill the bolt holes to match the 1UZ and move the ring gear closer to the engine side. The 3VZE and 5VZE share the same bolt pattern but the 1UZ's bolt pattern is a little bigger.

My engine mounts and headers came in the mail this week. Got the engine mounts completed and the headers in today. Headers are for a Tundra.
