I'm getting close to brob finished swapping a 1uz in my 99 4runner, I also just kept my auto. Do you like it offroad with the 1uz? I've got duals with 4.7s behind my auto already.

I love the 1uz and the auto. The only complaint is the Lexus power steering pump isn't as strong as the trucks. With a manual tranny you can feather the clutch to bring up engine rpms to help the pump but you can't with an auto. It definitely needs hydro assist.

They are working great so far. No complaints whatosever. The way I am using them they are stiff but that's the way I wanted it.

They are for an RX7 application made by a company called Banzai Racing

It was one of the top two on that page, I can't remember which. I did have to drill out the center hole a bit bigger for the 1/2 bolts I used. Had to bore out the Lexus mount slightly too to match.

Just wanted to chime in and say my Lex 1UZ power steering pump is fine hooked up to my Tacoma steering rack. When I was doing my swap I went ahead and bought a remfg. pump from my local Carquest and it works perfectly. Yours could easily be worn out? Just a thought. It's a lot cheaper to get another pump and try than have to fab or add something different.

I have two or three pumps. Their just not designed for 37" boggers on rocks. I have a hydro assist ram kit I'm just waiting to install it because I have an FJ80 front axle I will be installing.

Now it all makes more sense. You are headed in the right direction with the new axle. Awesome.

Still one of my favorite builds! Are those the toyota fiberglass high clearance fenders? I re-read from page 2 but may have missed it...

No, they were pretty much a pain in the ass to make the body lines and gaps match.

How stiff are those urethane mounts? You said they are a little stiff, but would they be too harsh for a dd? I really like your motor mount setup.

The 1uz engine is very well balanced and runs extremely smooth throughout it's entire rpm range so it feels fine driving it. You might notice more engine vibrations on a lesser engine though with these mounts used the way I'm using them.

Since I'm running a single bolt straight through the mount instead of isolating it it's gonna transfer some through to the frame and body.

These are the mounts that I used on my 1uz. I can't tell you how much vibration they transfer as I haven't started it yet, but they are pretty big and the poly is the only thing touching the mount bracket. I pretty much mounted them like toyminator2000.

I have my engine bolted directly to the custom mount i fabbed up. there is not much need for a bushing in my opinion. this motor has just about no vibration at all. car friends cant even tell there was no bushing, surprised a bunch of people.

I got mine started and it has no vibrations. I think it's still a good idea to have a bushing of some sort to reduce shock loads on the mounts and frame.

That's the way I am going to do it when I get around to it. Having to measure all these odd angles and stuff doesn't make sense at all when the stock set up with a simple ear setup will do the job.

What size plate is that? 3/8ths?

Of course, I say this in theory because I still need to actually do the swap.
