Nix 99 has contributed to this endeavor. Power steering pump, and lines as well as a new dipstick. Side note, a dipstick from the dealer here in East Tenn. is around $30. From up in Wash., it's only about $15. Weird.

 

I AM DONE. It is on the road, exhaust was welded back on today, and I'm driving it. No problems, only gotta finish the vacuum lines and put the dash back together. Those will be tonight at work since all I do is sit there anyway.

Just to update,,, engine is a beast. OH MY DEAR LORD, THE POWER!!! The 3 mile trip to the muffler shop was fun, (open exhaust). Put my 2 chamber flowmaster back on and it sounds good, but need to check all flange bolts to ensure they're tight, think I missed one. BTW, don't skimp on things like toggle switches. The cheap ones that I bought from Northern disintigrated in my hands and I can't hook up my fan until I get a good switch. Just means I need to avoid drive-thru's and red lights. The truck sat long enough that I had forgotten the list of other things that needed to be fixed.

Oh, I found an easy way to redo the brake lines after removing the ABS actuator. A flexible brake line from the front calliper will bolt in it's place.

Then you gotta worry about the soft line failing. Damage from vibration, heat, and I would think you'd loose some umph in the pedal do to the line expanding some.

 

I've been concerned about the braking since I removed the ABS, I have tried to alter my driving style considerably so not to put any undue stress on that line and I'm still testing it in parking lots and such. Pedal feel is the same, and I don't have a fear of it letting go..you also have a flexible line at the rear diff, and this one came from the front caliper which sees alot more pressure than the rear line. It's not neat, it's just a quick and dirty short cut that I'm trying out. Remember,

Also, I'm using the auto ecu, and this thing is wanting to idle around 450-500 RPM, should I be worried?

 

Here's my brake line mod for ABS removal....





This line is from the front caliper, and I reasoned that those lines are under more pressure than this one will be here, so it should be safe. A week on the road and no problems with it.

Still concerned about an idle of only 400 rpm.

And I also scored some new (to me) wheels today...





I have been looking for these for over 2 years. So now the factory alloys are up for sale. Will be posting in market place as well.

 

Think I figured out my low idle, my back O2 sensor isn't wired right, and I'm still getting 19 mpg with happifutitis. I should get it right this evening, and we will see how that helps.

 

That break line is going to fail like that. It will rub through on the Idler arm were it is touching.

Rest of the swap looks good.

 

that doesn't look good does it..... that will be addressed soon, maybe if I loop it around and put some sort of pad for it to rest against.
