Bringing back the old thread. So i am having trouble figuring out the fuel guage.

Is this something that i have to wire in?
I cant see anywhere on anybody's thread where they say anything about it.
On the EWD's it shows them going to a different plug that i am not working with.

Can anyone help me out here?

Also do i need to wire up anything for the cruise? or is that not messed with?

Thanks

Hey maybe you know dntsdad, what wires did you need for the Tach? I soldered the resistor on but i think i don't have the wires right. On TIS all i can see is a wire that comes from the ignitor to the tach. Is that my wire or what? Any help with this would be great. Thanks again for all your help.

My memory is starting to fade but I am almost positive that is the one that I used.

Black wire (if I remember right) that passes through II3 on the overall diagrams which was the large locking body plug.

Okay everyone, NEW problem ha ha.

So i don't know what is going on but when i mash the gas to the floor the motor bogs down and wont go above 3000 rpm, but if i half throttle, it will climb all the way up and red line.

Any ideas why this is happening? maybe a sensor? MAF?

Thanks everyone

I would say either MAF sensor, buy a can of CRC maf sensor cleaner and clean the 2 little wires in the sensor.
Or maybe it is fuel pressure related, Fuel filter plugged, fuel pump cant keep up, fuel line pinched.
Did you run new exhaust? a bad catalytic converter will cause the car to bog at WOT, but the car will normally sound like a giant vacuum cleaner when it bogs.
hope that helps

Cleaned the MAF and still same thing.

It seems like it is choking itself on fuel ... I dunno though...

Any other ideas?

Another quick question? The Diagnostics plug under the hood that is attached to the motor, can i use a scanner to scan that for codes? or does it have to be the OBD2?

I put a new timing belt on the motor, do i need to time it? reset the computer? would that have any effect on what is happening?

obd2 plug is for codes.

If you didnt let the sprockets turn then you shouldn't need to time but probably should check it to make sure.

I would check the timing likely it is off just a little bit. As DNTSDAD said if the sprocket didn't move I would guess it did just a little.

the top two sprockets did move to the left, but then i moved them back to where they were, all the marks on the belt lined up. could it be that then?
