MAF/Igniter compatibility

So I'm trying to round up the last few parts I need for my swap and that includes the maf and igniter. I'm using a 1997 T100 ecu and engine harness and was wondering if a maf from a tacoma/4runner would work with that ecu and if it matters from what year it comes from. I know they switched to a newer style maf in 99? so I'll avoid 99 and newer. Also are igniters compatible between T100 and Tacoma/4runner? I know they switched those up later as well, can't remember what year though. I regret not just shelling out for a donor vehicle, would've been so much easier .

MAF should be fine up to 99 like you said. ignitor.. Well I believe they were the same as well. I would have to say that if you get an ignitor from any 5vz-fe motor. that it should work. Looking between a 97 4runner, and 99 tacoma. The pins to ecu/coil/ground/tach are the same. But some of the wires are just different colors. I don't see why any ignitor would be different if it comes off a 5vz-fe. Just my 2 cents.

You can always call toyota and ask for the part numbers from your year. and from the make/year, of one that you find or something..

My Toyota EPC says that the MAF part number for a 97 T100 is 22250-20020. That is the same as my 97 Runner. I could not find the ignitor anywhere in the EPC but I'd bet $100 it would be the same as the the Runners as well. I can't imagine them making different ones just for T100's

Ok well now I am not sure.

Saw this today

I went out and looked at mine and its part number 89621-36020 which is different.

Google both and it seems the one in the pic (89621-35011) is MUCH more popular than the one that I have. Didn't seem to figure out the variable though.

It seems that the one in the pic is the one that you want and for $35 shipped thats a GOOD deal. Toyota Parts Zone list these as compatible vehicles:

The variable = year/date of production. The one you found in that thread is for a 94.11-96.09 vehicle(it's claimed to be "out of a 95 3.4L"). Yours is a 97 correct? They obviously changed to a different ignitor for your vehicle's model year. That's generally indicative of an upgraded component. Meaning later models usually have better parts.

Hey guys thanks for the quick reply and info, glad to know that I don't have to get a T100 specific maf/igniter as they're expensive enough as is. Really just didn't want to get everything put together and then second guess my wiring skills, tear everything apart and have it just be something as simple as this.

Hey kg.............just wanted to make sure that you noticed that link in the post about 3 above this one. Its too a classified ad that is a great deal on an ignitor. I was thinking of buying it just for a backup at that price of $35 shipped.

Yeah I saw the igniter, thanks man. That really is a good deal, going to the junkyard tomorrow though and will probably just pick one up there as I've got to get a bunch of other stuff anyways.
