evap elimination?

I've been searching, and finding lots on the subject, but nothing really clearly describing how to eliminate the 5VZ evap emissions stuff without incurring a constant CEL. Can the sensors and ECU be fooled into ignoring the evap emissions, if the rig wont have to undergo emissions testing? Any links or write-ups would be appreciated.

Why, no performance benefit. No benefit I can think of and stands to cause problems by removing.

Its just a big box taking up lots of space under the hood. I would much rather occupy that space with an air compressor or something useful.

As I said you stand to create other issues. Ditch the A/C for a York, should be fine in Alabama

If you don't want the large 3.4 box under the hood, use the 3.0 canister with the various 3.4 sensors. Take a look at Elvota's swap thread (another one of the stickies), he shows how to make the 2 systems work together:
