ECU looking for a security device
Hello out there,
I've put a 2000 4Runner engine into my 1988 4Runner. The engine will run for 15 to 20 seconds and then shuts down. the fault code is P1300. There seems to be a problem with the ECU looking for a security device which of course I don't have. Does anyone know how to disable the ECU looking for a security system? I'm at a total loss.

Thanks for the replies. When you cross referance the P1300 code over to Toyota it says that it is a security problem. The question I need answered is if anyone knows how reprogram the ECU or knows of a way to make it think the security system is engaged. Thanks Mike

Straight from TIS.
P1300 ignitor circuit malfunction.
Condition (a) is repeated 3 times consecutively during 6 consecutively
IGT signals while engine is running (a) IGF signal is
not input to ECM for 2 or more ignitions
Ignition system
Open or short in IGF and IGT circuits from igniter to ECM
Igniter
Ignition coil
ECM
Immobilizer codes start with B (B2796) for instance.
