dipstick question

I have started the swap from my 94 3.0 to a 99 3.4 and I have the "boss" on the block that I just need to drill, and my questions is can I just use the 3.0 dipstick guide and drill the 3.4 block to accept it?
Thanks
Chadwick

here are some shots of the boss that I think is where i need to drill.

The dipstick on the 3.4 is on the front and it has to be pulled out for the 3.0 pan to be installed.

That is where you need to drill. ORS made a jig to bolt on there to drill it out. You can e-mail them and see if they have anymore. I used the t100 dipstick, but I did not have to drill my block.

do you think I could just remove the 3.0 sleeve and install it all on the 3.4? I dont see why not but Im not just gonna jump in without seeing if it works or not.

You need to check and see if the tube will bolt to the 3.4 so it is secure.

Depends on the block. Mine just had to have the old boss knocked out with a punch and there was a plug where it was to go on the 3.4 block that had to be knocked out, as well.

First step is drilling the block to accept a dipstick tube. Then see if the 3.0 tube will work for you.

Been looking for a "year" guide as to what year 3.4s have the boss drilled and haven't found it yet. Someone got the information and the link. I have a 97 or 98 4Runner, never can remember the year w/o looking at the door sill.

Anyone got the ORS jig that they would part with now that they are done?

I have a '97 Tacoma motor and it didn't need to be drilled out. Mine had a plug that just needed to be knocked out and the old dipstick guide inserted (tapped gleefully with a hammer) into place.
