Well, after all the trials and tribulations, and part throwing. I finally picked the right one. She fired right up today after changing the crank timing gear. One of the teeth had broken off the sensor portion. She's no LS2 but it's plenty for what I want. Can't wait to get back on the trails.

The culprit:

Just need to make a support for the power steering pump and i'm golden.

For the future searchers, since that helped me with a lot of troubleshooting:

Symptoms: Starts, runs for a few seconds and dies. I could keep it running for a while if my foot was on the throttle, but it would immediately dies at lower RPMs. Checked: fuel, spark, compression, sensors, ecu, conversion wiring. All checked out.

Solution: Replace crank timing sprocket.

Also for future searchers... As sort of hinted at in this thread... COR isn't an issue if you wire the fuel pump on it's own circuit. Having that on a separate switch also makes for an amazing anti theft device!
