Can I pass smog judge with Auto ECU on a manual trans swap?
I have 96 engine and wiring harness with 98T100 manual ECU. I can swap pins and stuff but I thought it would be easier if I can just use the Auto ECU that came with the engine and "fool" the auto signal.
I'm thinking also that the 96 use the same smog stuff as my 95 runner. so I can use my old VSV stuff.

 

I'm confused. Did you do a trans swap, manaul to automatic, or a complete engine/trans swap ? Lots of variables regarding emission laws when swapping drivetrain components.

 

It wouldn't pass at the ref that I went to. I would start looking for a manual ECM

Quick question I have a manual trans 4x4 and the donor vehicle (with 3.4) is an auto 2wd...I don't have to pass any inspection, so is it possible to use the auto ecm with my swap? ANY tips on how would be greatly appreciated.

 

Need more information. What are you swapping into ?
