Conversion Harness PDF

It looks like I can attach a PDF to a post, so here's a PDF of my conversion harness. This is for swapping in the 97 4Runner (96 4Runners have the same pin out) 5VZ 4WD M/T into a 91 4Runner (with a 3VZ) 4WD M/T while maintaining ADD functionality and working A/C (without any extra idle up functionality) per the A/C sticky (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160...4-swap-251179/).

Radiator hoses

This is more of a reminder for myself, as I recently (October 2015) replaced both the upper and lower radiator hoses and I couldn't find any record of what parts I actually used.

What I ended up with (for this time around) was Napa #7559 (cut as shown in Elvota's image, see below) for the upper hose and Napa #7564 (which is actually a 90-95 4Runner 22RE hose) with the Napa #900 1.5" to 1.25" hose adapter and a 3-4" length of 1.25" copper pipe; the lower hose from Elvota's image (Napa #7571), didn't work for me, it was too short.

Now, with my 1.5" BL, the 1.5" radiator drop brackets, and 3.4 thermostat housing, neither lower hose worked as is, the 7564 was too long and the 7571 was too short. Ultimately I ended up buying a 4" piece of 1.25" copper pipe from Ace Hardware, then cut a chunk of hose out of the 7564 and used the copper pipe to splice it together. In hindsight, I should have used the 7571, which was originally too short, and lengthened it with the copper pipe, but I had already returned it, and I had the 7564 in hand and already cut a chunk out of it, so I just continued with it.

does the crossover pipe you use route the exhaust to the other side? details on that?

Easiest answer is to direct you to Toy Only Swaps' website and let them discuss the modified crossover: http://www.toyonlyswaps.com/swap-parts-.html

But in short, yes, their modified cross over just reverses the factory cross over so that the exhaust can be run down the driver's side like the 3.0. I used the down pipe (the 2-to-1 collector after the crossover) from the donor truck with about 6" of exhaust tube before it was cut off the donor, then had a local muffler shop rebuild the rest of the exhaust back to the muffler, including O2 sensor bungs and a CA legal catalytic converter in the same relative positions as the 3.4 came from the factory (this was 100% a SMOG requirement).

And even though TOS says their crossover is for offroad use only, the SMOG Ref that performed my inspection passed it, since it reused all the factory components (the factory flanges were his main concern) and that it didn't significantly alter the characteristics (tube size and length) much from factory.

SACRunner, I just completed swapping a JDM 3.4 into a 92 4WD M/T pickup using an engine harness, various other parts and ECU from a 98 4 Runner with A/T.
Information from your thread made it MUCH less difficult and I'm not sure I'd have been able to pull it off without your posts.
I have the pin outs in Excel spreadsheet form and as soon as I get them cleaned up I'll post them. Until then, anyone needing them can shoot me a P/M.
Swap turned out GREAT and I'm happy to have it completed. I traded doing the project for my brother for a new custom AR10 from his gun company Bell Precision Rifles. We are both very happy!

would this ii1 connector be the same for a 99 3.4 engine? i wouldn't need this connection? i have a 90 4runner with a 99 3.4 I've finished th swap but i can't get it to turn over, i found that i have no spark but i can't seem to figure out why.

I don't know about the 99, the wiring could be completely different. Your best bet is to grab the EWD (Electrical Wiring Diagrams) from Toyota ( http://techinfo.toyota.com/ ) for your 99, figure out what's in the II1 plug, then determine if its needed or not.

If you have more questions, start a new thread, where you will get more visibility than being hidden in this one.

on my 96 T100 swap into my 92 3.0 i was able to re-use the 3.0 heater hoses, note i have no rear heat

3.4 swap pin out

Curious if you still have the pin outs that you used on your swap. Mostly any info on the ih1/ih2 to the ik1/ik2.

hey I'm swapping a 98 3.4 with a auto trans harness and ecu into my 89 with the 3vz and Manuel trans. I'm looking for a wiring diagram/pin out to connect the 3.4 engine harness to the 3.0 cab harness. having trouble finding correct information to make splice harnesses together. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

got to techinfo.toyota.com sign up for a 2 day subscription and download all the wiring diagrams. when I did my swap, I opened both harness' and removed wires not needed and added wires needed. i de-pinned the chassis connectors on both harness' and then re-pinned the connectors with the right contacts in the original connectors so it matched up.
