So I have been running an ebay intake for a 4 runner on my 1992 swapped with an 04 Tundra 3.4. Still chasing down some minor issues and to make things easy I want the intake system as close to factory as possible. I tried the 3.4 Tundra intake but the box is massive! I had to cut it in half and it still does not fit.

Does a T100 box fit? 4runner? Taco? Happy to cut off mounting brakets etc but not the whole box like the Tundra box. Any input appreciated, thanks guys!

 

I went with a cone filter in my 93 pickup and so far without issue. My buddy has a swapped 95 runner which I believe the donor was a 1st gen taco. His donor intake seems to fit without issue. I'm not sure if it's properly mounted or just sitting in there, but it fits.

 

Update: Just heard back from my friend, he said his 3.4 is from a 96 runner, so I would assume all 3rd gen runners and all 1st gen tacos would work for you.

 

​​​​​​Ah my man! Good to hear. I just actually grabbed a 4runner pipe and box. One of those mafs that is built into the pipe. I am going to re-pin the maf and I will let you know the results but it sounds like I will be set. Cone is fine but my ebay intake does not let the maf o-ring seat properly... Sketchy setup haha

 

Ah gotcha. I used a universal maf mount from Autozone (https://www.autozone.com/engine-mana...sensor%20mount), so far so good.
