3.4 swap ignition wiring
Good day fellas
Im swapping a 93 T100 to a 3.4 and I just have a question about the starter wiring. On the 3.0 wiring diagrams I can see that the ignition switch sends power to the starter relay when the key is turned to the start position. Then the power from the relay goes thru the Neutral saftey switch and to the Circuit opening relay and ecu and also to the starter solenoid.
On the 3.4 however, the ignition switch first goes to the ecu and the neutral safety switch and other things and then to the starter relay. Then the relay power goes right from the starter relay to the starter without powering anything else.
My question is, Can I hook up the the starter relay output from the 3.0 wiring (black and white large wire) to my 3.4 ecu and such. I’m just worried because on the 3.4 the power to the ecu sta pin come from the ignition switch which would be pretty low current, and it goes thru a 7.5amp fuse, VS on the 3.0 it comes from a relay which I would assume has a lot of current. just don’t want to kill my ECU with over current.
Thanks for any help
