So I’m attempting to swap my 3.0 for a 3.4 that I pulled from an automatic 4Runner. My 1990 pickup is 4wd and 5 speed. Really just need a run down of where to start. First time swapping motors so not a lot of experience doing so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

I started reading threads. The sticky'ed ones above are a good place.
Then you will need to get wiring diagrams. For target and donor vehicles, and basically from there figure out what signals you need and how to get them.

Or order a harness from Toy Only swaps, or (I think?) Northwest Offroad? That likely will save you mucho time and trouble, especially if you're not fairly electronic saavy.
