1989 Single Cab Pickup 3.4 Swap

Just bought a friends written off 4runner complete with a 5vzfe and all the working bits so in the next few weeks I'll be taking it apart and giving the engine some TLC which may include a new timing belt and some other goodies. Unfortunately no supercharger at this time....

Just incase you wanted to see my axle swap as well, here it is:https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f152...olgrey-280372/

Here's the low down.... The truck got stolen from my buddies front yard in the middle of the night by some crack head who drove it a few kilometres away to a park to shoot up and decided to fall asleep....next thing he knows the RMCP are knocking on his window and actually found the dude in the truck taking a nap. Unfortuenly he had broken both windows for some reason and completely goofed the ignition with a screw driver... So, yes it did get written off and he bought it back and then I bought it off of him! And here it is being towed back to my place!

I did a compression test and all the cylinders checked out, it runs and idles perfectly fine and everything looks good to go.

Hopefully get the engine pulled in a few weeks and then get a few new parts for it and swap in into my pickup in late April.

After the engine and exhaust come, I'm parting out the rest of the truck so anyone in the area can have first grab at the parts. Whatever doesn't sell in a timely manner is going to the scrapper!

Stay tuned for more!

Oh, good point. I completely skipped over that part. An unusual swap doner for sure.

The swap should be really easy then, especially if everything is working

Yep the engine is swapped and finished already in the 4runner! So all I'm doing is taking it out and then fixing the valve cover gaskets and possibly a timing belt and putting it straight into my truck!
