when i get around 2500-3500 rpm in gears 1-4 it makes a weird scraping noise. it sounds like medal is rubbing. anyone have a clue what it might be?

Is it kind of a clicking, clacking sound that only occurs there at constant throttle? I had that around the same RPMs and it turned out my timing belt was torn

Is it worse if you do that while putting load on the engine such as going up hill?
