Ok, I'm trying to figure out what I need here. I bought a filter from my local dealer for my '04 3.4 to do my first oil change on it, and tonight discovered that I received the same one that I use on my '86 22RE (08922-02011). Granted I did also buy an air filter for each of my trucks at the same time but I figured the jockey behind the parts counter had more than 3 brain cells to rub together. What I can see of the part number on the one that's in there right now (original) is xxx15-20003. I did a little search and apparently this one I was given is being used fairly universally, which would be nice as it means I can have one stack of spare filters that will fit both trucks.

My question is, is this really a valid filter for this engine (3.4), or did they screw up like I initially suspected?

YES! my freind that appears to be the correct filter because i bought two of them not to long ago,one is on my rig the other is still in the box in front of me now. the engine application reads as the following 1G series,VZ series , 22R series(JPN,EUR,USA,CAN), JZ series 2TZ-FE, M series #S-GTE(Celica ST165 only) WoW looks like alot ot engines like this one

Ya, I called the dealer I bought it from to confirm the number and then because I don't trust them I also called a couple other places to verify. That's pretty cool, now if the air filters were also the same I would be really happy.
