Maitenance Records

How many of you guys keep maintenance records for your Toy. I have a good portion of a notebook filled with everything I have done with my truck. I do mean everything, I have done.

Yep, from Day 1 for the new stuff, and I research the used stuff as far back as possible. For Toyotas, that's all the way back. I keep records and receipts for everything and make notations in the warranty logbook too. I also log when and how the interior and exterior were treated with polishes, waxes and conditioners, when wheels were rotated, and buy a Carfax right before selling to show a prospective buyer.

I just keep reciepts for everything .. I need to organize it, right now its stuffed into a folder. But I don't plan on selling this truck for another 10 yrs. I just keep the reciepts for insurance purposes just in case (God forbid) something happens to the truck.

Yup...I was lucky enough to find a used car where the guy who had it before me kept everything. I have everything from the window sticker that was on the car when he bought it to the receipt for my Hella 500's that I just got about a week ago...gives a pretty good piece of mind.

Mine came with all the records. All previous work was done by the dealers, it's definately easy to sell a vehicle when you flash receipts in the buyers face.

i keep the records. one folder for maintenance work, another for mods work. i even have a file on the computer recording everyting i've done to it and even a record of when i hit each 2000 mile interval. my dad instilled in me this record keeping nature with my last car, but i took it a step further with the runner, figured i'd do it right from the start. the records will come in handy someday i'm sure, even if i never plan to sell it.

I keep all reciepts on mods/repairs and log all my fluid changes since it sometimes will payoff in the future.

Definitly, especially all oil changes! Just keep it in notebook. Camry and 4runner in 1 book.

Same here. The only way I will be getting rid of the 4Runner is if it is stolen of wrecked.

I keep all records and I also keep an X-Cell spread sheet with all maintenance such as oil, lube and belts. Not to mention I keep a log for gas mileage. I watch that the most, and can tell when there might ba a problem (gas mileage goes down).

I have mechanic receipts and records. Also have part reciepts for those "do it yourself" projects.

Uhh, I think I have a receipt or two for tires.. Thats about it. I HATE keeping records! I figure the oil change place has it on file, so why should I? Having 170k miles, I think my warranty is just over and I don't need to prove anything.

Knock on the fake wood dash, that in my 20k miles/8 month ownership I've had no problems whatsoever.
