Deckplate =Check engine light?

Deckplate =Check engine light?

i just installed my deckplate mod so am i suppose to live with the check engine light or is there something more that needs to be done?

The deckplate mod alone should not cause a CEL.
Did you upgrade in filters too? If you did you may want to try to get out the excess oil, especially if you upgraded to an Amsoil filter.

Find out what the code is for the CEL and you'll have a better idea.

On some models there is a long vacuum hose that connects to the side of the airbox. If you leave that off, it will trip a CEL. Check all your hoses and connections.

Also make sure that your MAF sensor is clean & properly connected...

ok thanks guys but yeah it seems as though themod was the one who tripped it. from what you guys say it doesnt sound common though hmmm

When I did mine it tripped the CEL too. Just reset it by removing the neg battery cable. It may happen a few times, til the ecu learns how to handle the new air flow. I carried a 10mm wrench with me for a week or so.
