Question Check Engine light!

I just installed a Gibson side swept cat back exhaust, on my 00 taco Prerunner V6, and now the Check engine light comes on. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance!

Five minutes. The light stayed off for twenty minutes and came back on.

you might need to find a shop that can read the trouble codes off your rig...........i think some places will do it for free or almost no money (unless you have an OBD II reader , then you can do it for free yourself)

do you have a k&n air filter on it by chance, i had a friend whoi had a k&n air filter and installed a flowmaster exhaust, and his check engine light came on, turned out to be the mass air flow sensor was having a problem with all the air. had to replace the maf, hope this helps.

Yes i do have a FIPK II, but the light never came on, until i installed the Gibson side swept exhaust. However i found the problem......i did not tighten the clamps from the lead pipe to old exhaust, which was causing a leak. I tighten every bolt on the exhaust, dis connected the battery for five minutes and reconnected it, and so far the light has not come back on.
Thanks for your guys help.

Yep that is what it is. I have a buddy that used his OBD II scan to find the problem and it 's the sensor right after the catalytic converter. There is no voltage going thru it and it is causing the engine to run lean. It's great to have knowledge of the problem before i take it to the dealership. The warranty should cover it.
