oil pan and motor mount issue

I took out a 22r from an 87 pu 2wd and bought a donor off craigs list probably a 4wd, everything matched up except the oil pan looks like its deeper which wont allow the motor mounts to match up. This is my first swap and really dont want to pull it all out again, can someone give me some advise, is it just swapping the pans? or is there more to it than that? Thanks

i believe you have to swap out the oil pickup tube also(its under the pan )

on a 4wd you can get the pan off with out pulling the motor. not sure on a 2wd though..

If they are both short blocks, switch the oil pickup like was said and use the 2wd oil pan

I had the same problem but i was going from a tall block to a short block and the oil pickup had a different bolt pattern so i ran the 2wd pan and my front axle dented it

Edit: Oh and i think you have to remove the tie rod and front xmember to remove the oil pan on a 2wd.. not as bad as it sounds.. like 6 bolts and a little hammering

2wd and 4wd pans are different, but same bolt pattern. Just swap the pans/sump.

Donor motor in my 85 ext cab was out of a 92 22R 2WD so all I did was just put a 4WD pan/sump on it and it was golden.
