What's with the stinger?

Off on tricked-out rigs the front winch bumper has a loop extending out into the wild-blue yonder.

Why?

come off a steep ledge and put it on the front 2 tires, and tell me u dont want a stinger then. also good for ramming some a-holes tailgate.

At least on 4Runners isn't the departure angle much worse than the attack? I would think if you actually needed one of these on the front end, your rear end is going to take a killer beating when it catches up.

Yep. It's there to keep you from flipping end over end when you're coming down steep stuff nose first.

Ah, okay, that makes sense now. It's so far out of the scope of my ride style I guess I just couldn't imagine it!
