toyota drivin liberty

so i wanna see what you guys think of this project im gonna be doing.

2001 jeep liberty body/frame
converted to
toyota everything

TOYOTA
axles
leaf springs
22r
5 speed trans
dual cases
ifs steering box
high steer
488 gears.
and the reason we are going to do this project is i have alot of spare parts to use in it and to do a jeep sas swap and make it wheel the way we want it will cost less to do a full toyota conversion
and toyota parts are way cheaper and stronger than jeep stuff
so let me know what you guys think

Well you'd definitely be doing the Liberty a favor by upgrading to Toyota parts! LoL!

Idk... I see nothing wrong with "upgrading" that liberty to quality parts!

To me... What is sacrilege, is downgrading a yota by puttin vortec motors, and ford axles etc... in them

i fully agree with both of those comments
it will probably get a gen 1 grill to
it will be a fun project for sure and to loose all those lame American junk parts that the liberty is made up of. ill start a build thread once we get started

it is uni body yes but there are already plans for 1/4 in 3/4 box frame supports and a full cage with through bots to the boxed frame portion and welded. and i think the 22r will be ok the 3.7 v6 in it is no power house at all. unless we can get our hands on a 3rz and harness for somewhat cheap. the 22r is just alot cheaper of a build and again have alot of the 22r parts already. the engine selection will come when the suspension and frame work is mostly done.

Personally, I HATE this kinda stuff. Just keep it all Toyota/Lexus. I hate when guys mix and match. Goes the same way when people put Chevy 350's in the Toyotas too.

I can guarantee that the 3.7 V6 is WAY more powerful than the 22re. Once a heep always a heep.

Sounds like sleeping with your sister....

Blasphemy!

You are correct... It's your project, so do as you wish. Post some pics of the progress. It's always interesting to watch someone else's vision, come to life.

Most of the Toyota/Jeep banter, is all in good fun. Enjoy your build.

The 3.7 had 210 hp/235 ft lbs. VS. The 22r having 97 hp/129 ft lbs.

Its already in there. just leave it. Sounds like everything you want to do is just put the body on a toyota frame?
so save yourself some work and do that.

and i dont know if you have emissions but will a 22r pass titled in a 2001 liberty?

i understand the 3.7 has more power but the jeep automatic trans is trashed the t case is worse. and the 3.7 is not that great of an engine it needs a bit of work. and i dont just want to put the body on the frame i want to build a ligit good crawler out of this rig and putting the body of a uni body jeep on top of a toy frame is way to high of cog. i have not decided entirely on the engine its just i have a 22r with a 5 speed trans and two t cases ready for it so even if it comes down to putting the 22r in for a short time to build the next engine then that's what ill do. there is no emissions in the county we are in. and im not looking to save my self work i want the challenge of the project and just to show a lot of people that you can do anything if you want
